Q. Where will the Bark in the Park take place?
Bark in the Park will take place in the arena field adjacent to the playground, just off the Village Street in Bunratty Folk Park.
Q. Who can enter the Dog Show?
Dogs can be entered into the show based on the classes outlined on the website or event poster. Please note that all dogs must be on a lead at all times, or they will not be admitted.
Q. Is there an admission fee?
Yes, the entry fee is €5 per dog per class or €10 for up to four classes per dog.
Q. How do I enter my dog?
Complete the registration form, including your details and the classes your dog will compete in.
Q. Can I enter more than one dog?
Yes, but you will need to complete a separate registration form for each dog.
Q. What time does the Dog Show start?
The competition will start at approximately 12pm, with arena entry available from 11am.
Q. Do I have to pay an entry fee to Bunratty Folk Park?
Yes, but all registered dog show entrants receive a 50% discount on Folk Park admission. Limited to 100 entries/registrations for the Dog Show.
Q. Can I enter the Folk Park in advance?
Yes, the park opens from 9.00am.
Q. Will there be prizes on the day?
- Best Overall Show Dog Trophy
- Rosettes for 1st to 4th place in each class
- Doggy Bag treats for all dog show participants
Q. When do I pay the entry fee to the competition?
Once your application has been processed, you will be contacted by our Reservations Department for payment. All payments must be made in advance, or your application may be invalidated. You will receive a reference number to present on arrival.

Q. What time will the Dog Show end?
The show will continue until 5pm, depending on the number of entries. Bunratty Folk Park is open daily until 5.30pm, with the last castle admission at 4.00pm.
Q. Will there be any dog associations in attendance?
Yes, this event is supported by the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and Irish Dogs for the Disabled.
Q. Will the dog associations be fundraising on site?
Yes, there will be booths for information, and visitors are welcome to support these worthy causes.
Q. Will the organisers be supporting the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind with a donation?
Yes, Clare Tourism will make a donation.
Q. Is there an increase to the standard entry fee for this event?
No, regular Folk Park admission rates apply for all non-competitors.
Q. Are Members free to attend this event?
Yes, members can attend the event for free, but if they wish to enter the dog show, they must pay the relevant competition fee. Only completed and paid entries will be accepted.
Q. Will there be refreshments available in the field?
Yes, there will be a food trailer on site for snacks and drinks, as well as our café in admissions, Mac's Pub on the Village Street, and the Tea Rooms.
