Bunratty Castle and Folk Park welcomes a new resident this summer – James the blacksmith. A skilled artisan with over eight years of experience, James brings his passion for traditional ironwork to the castle courtyard. Trained by master blacksmiths in Hereford, UK, he utilizes techniques passed down for generations to create beautiful and functional pieces.

From classic forged Irish gates to more sculptural ironwork, James' artistry is on display every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am to 4:30pm until September 22nd. James isn't just a maker; he's also an educator. Witness live demonstrations of his craft and even learn the art of blacksmithing firsthand.
