Bunratty Castle - Schedule For Heritage Week 2019

17th Aug: Guided Tours of Bunratty Castle and the Bite of Friendship.
Our famous Castle Guides will welcome visitors to the castle with a "Bite of Friendship"(a medieval welcome custom) before embarking on tour of this iconic fortress

19th Aug: Concert in Ardcroney Church performed by the world famous Bunratty Entertainers
20th Aug: Bodhrán Workshop - Our resident musicians will be on hand teach visitors on the famous Irish percussion instrument, the bodhrán

22nd Aug: Dry Stone Wall & Thatching Demonstrations
23rd Aug: Animal Husbandry - Let our Farmer Seamus take you on his morning rounds, as he discusses  the origins of the animals that reside in the folk park and our commitment to animal conservation and care.
24th Aug: Guided Tours of Folk Park with our village characters
25th Aug: “Lady of the House” – Meet Mary the lady of Bunratty House, the 19th century manor house that stands proud at the top of the Bunratty Estate. Let Mary transport you back in time with her account of days gone by and the lifestyle enjoyed by the residents of this stately home.

An Afternoon of Storytelling with Seanchaí Eddie Lenihan

Sunday 18th August from 12pm
For those who like a good yarn pop along to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park on Sunday August 18th as Irish author, storyteller, lecturer and broadcaster, Eddie Lenihan will bring his unique style of storytelling and wit to the iconic Co Clare venue in celebration of Heritage Week.
Lenihan, particularly well known for his tales of Irish folk heroes, fairies, fallen angels, and other supernatural beings as recorded in Irish mythology and folklore is guaranteed to entertain and enthral visitors of all ages with his colourful tales and entertaining demeanour.
Renowned as called "one of the greatest of Irish story-tellers of all time" and "a national treasure", Eddie is one of only a few practicing seanchaíthe remaining in Ireland today making this one afternoon not to be missed.

Wild Child Day – Bugs, Bees and Fairies

Wednesday 21st of August
In celebration of Wild Child Day children of all ages are invited to come along and explore the newly redeveloped magical Fairy Trail and regency walled garden at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park under the watchful eye of the Queen of the Fairies! On the day children are invited to partake in a unique fairy door painting workshop and in the construction of Bunratty’s very own bug hotel!
