Bunratty Castle & Folk Park offers a unique insight into Ireland’s rich history and cultural heritage. From the fully restored medieval castle to the immersive folk park village, there is something for visitors of all ages to enjoy. How to Get Here:

  • By car: Just off the N18 between Limerick and Ennis, about 10 minutes from Shannon Airport.
  • By bus: Bus Éireann services from Limerick and nearby towns stop near the attraction.
  • Nearest Train: Limerick Colbert Station with taxi or bus connections. 

Opening Hours

  • Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is open daily from 09:00–17:30
  • The last admission to Bunratty Folk Park is 4:30 pm.
  • The last admission to Bunratty Castle is 4:00 pm.
  • Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is closed 24th–26th December.

Bunratty Castle

How much time should I allow for my visit? 

  • Bunratty Castle: approx. 45–60 minutes
  • Bunratty Folk Park: 1.5–3 hours
  • Full visit: Please allow 3–4 hours to enjoy the Castle and Folk Park at a relaxed pace

Accessibility

  • The Folk Park is largely wheelchair accessible
  • Due to its historic nature, Bunratty Castle has limited accessibility.
  • Dogs are allowed in the Folk Park but not in the castle or dining areas, except for service dogs.
