PRIMARY SCHOOL TOURS

Travel back through the centuries at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and discover Ireland’s past in action. Students can explore daily life long ago, from work and home life to music and learning, brought to life by engaging characters such as the schoolteacher, Bean an Tí and traditional musicians. Interactive, entertaining and rich in discovery, it’s an unforgettable way to experience history beyond the classroom.

Q. What time does Bunratty Castle and Folk Park Open
We open at 9am until 5.30pm with last admission to the Castle at 4pm
 
Q. How do you pay for school tours?
Payment can be made in advance of your visit or upon arrival at admissions.
No groups can be admitted without full payment being received.
We accept the following:

Bank Transfers must be paid 2 weeks in advance of your booking and are non-refundable. Please contact reservations on 061 711222
 
Q. What’s included in a school tour?
A self guided tour of Bunratty Castle & Folk Park encompassing the 15th Century Castle and 19th Century Folk Park.

Q. Is there a lunch area?
Where possible we provide a bag drop area and covered lunch area. We always advise visitors not to leave anything of value in their bags as the bag drop area cannot always be supervisied.
 
Q. What if the weather is bad?
Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is an outdoor park and so is affected by weather. However there are plenty of buildings to duck into so cover is never too far away. We always advise groups to have a change of clothes on their bus.
 
Q. Can teachers leave their groups with Bunratty Tour Guides?
No. Teachers must remain with their groups at all times. School groups remain the responsibility of their teachers while they are visiting.
 
Q. Are there are toilet facilities?
Yes we have ample facilities just to the right of the main entrance and near the playground.
 
Q. Is there wheelchair access?
The Folk Park is accessible by wheelchair and has full toilet facilities on site. Please note some of the paths are uneven in places. Unfortunately Bunratty Castle is not wheelchair accessible.
